...of a dragonfly...

Finland,
Summer 07

This dragonfly was just on my knee. It was gripping on my jeans as I was safer than the water from where my son found it drowning. We can see drops of water on the wing. Few hours later we found it dead, eaten by ants on the stone where my son left it.

Dragonflies' wings have been fascinating since I first saw one about 30 years ago.
Those lights in the wings were just so mysterious and beautiful.

My son found this dragonfly damaged on the water. It was still alive but could'nt fly anymore, it was just on my knee as I was taking the pictures.

I love the DOF in this, very amazing! I also like the fresh colors, they add a certain cold atmosphere to it. A Dragonfly...that's just wow. How did you managi it to take such a photo on a Dragonfly?!
